Door Frame
That same late time of night and though I
pull closed the door it comes open to let lay that little
slap of light we keep most nights on the floor.
What needs be done to its hinges so it runs adhesive with the frame?
Still, come morning I’m delighted always having
laid my foot over that patch, feeling its heated up
layer cooking since dawn.
Not now though, not in winter.
Until March light...

I’ve a love of your face in this evening light
with all the envelopes in the house opening.
Some more creak is needed on the stairs and
you take to it with filler, knowing the softness required
by the hand-held pump and the sneaking rotations of the handle.
